Two Women Whose Work May Inspire You
I urge you to read about Amina Hagi Elmi, who was one of 24 women recognized by the U.N. on World Humanity Day. Running for her life during the conflict in Somalia, she realized that not only she, but every woman and girl in the refugee camps, faced an indignity that could be eliminated. Today she has 300 people working to solve a number of problems facing refugees. With her dignity kits, 70,000 women and girls have a better life.
And here at home, in Topeka, Kansas, Dr Sofia Kahn is making a difference in the lives of refugees resettled in her city. Read about her for inspiration on ways you can change lives in your community.
