Seeing children blossom
What a difference a year makes. Last year my family adopted a troubled child who’d suffered mightily. I won’t reveal names or places to protect all involved. Personally, I was terribly upset at the trauma this might inflict on the young biological children. I disagreed with the entire operation.
I just came back from a visit. All my fears were unfounded. Thanks to good, loving parents who know how to set boundaries, all the children are thriving. All are creative, curious and loving as well. They gave this child a hand up, and it shows. I told them I was coming home to tell all my friends how incredible they are. And now I have.
